At The Beauty Haus, your safety, style, and healing are our priority. All piercings are performed under sterile conditions by trained professionals. Proper aftercare is essential to avoid complications and ensure your piercing heals beautifully.

Approximate Healing Tines

(Healing varies based on individual lifestyle, piercing location, and care.)

  • Earlobe: 6–8 weeks
  • Cartilage (Helix, Tragus, Rook, etc.): 3–9 months
  • Nose (Nostril): 2–4 months
  • Eyebrow: 6–8 weeks
  • Lip / Labret / Medusa / Monroe: 6–12 weeks
  • Tongue: 4–6 weeks
  • Navel (Belly Button): 6–12 months
  • Nipple: 6–12 months
  • Surface & Dermals: Varies – we’ll advise you on care and expectations

How to Clean your Piercing

Clean 1–2 times daily with sterile saline or a recommended piercing aftercare spray. Less is more—over-cleaning can irritate.

You’ll need:

  • Sterile saline solution (not contact lens fluid!)
  • Clean gauze or cotton pads
  • Clean, dry hands

Steps:

  1. Wash hands thoroughly.
  2. Spray or soak the piercing gently with saline. For hard-to-reach areas, use a saline-soaked gauze as a compress for a few minutes.
  3. Let it air dry or gently pat with a clean paper towel.

🚫  Do not twist, rotate, or remove jewellery while healing.

Normal Vs Problem Signs

What’s Normal:

  • Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness
  • Slight bleeding in the first 24–48 hours
  • Clear/yellowish crusting (lymph)

What’s NOT Normal:

  • Intense or spreading redness
  • Hot skin around the piercing
  • Yellow or green pus-like discharge
  • Foul smell
  • Throbbing pain, bumps, or jewellery migration

If any of these occur, contact us or a health professional.

What to Avoid

  • Touching or playing with your piercing
  • Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Dettol, or harsh soaps
  • Makeup, skincare, fake tan, or sprays near the piercing
  • Swimming (chlorinated pools, spas, oceans, lakes) until fully healed
  • Sleeping on fresh piercings (especially ears)
  • Changing jewellery too early

Jewellery Tips

  • Don’t remove your jewellery during healing, even temporarily.
  • Avoid low-quality jewellery or mystery metals — we only recommend implant-grade titanium, surgical steel, or solid gold.
  • Book in for downsizing once swelling reduces — oversized jewellery left in too long can cause irritation or shifting.
  • Never force jewellery in or out — if you’re unsure, come in and we’ll assist.

Extras for Oral & Facial Piercings

  • Rinse with alcohol-free mouthwash or warm saltwater after eating, drinking (other than water), or smoking.
  • Avoid spicy, acidic, or crunchy foods for the first week.
  • Suck on ice to reduce swelling.
  • Use a soft toothbrush and keep up your oral hygiene.
